Just returned from a trip to the Alps. The mountains are spectacular, of course, and nestled within them are the delightful picture-book perfect villages of Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria. Imagine being within the pages of a Little Golden Book story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or Little Red Riding Hood, and you’re there. Fortunately, we didn’t run into any elves or witches, but I was inspired by the scenery to paint a little landscape as soon as we got home. Here it is:
